On April 17, second-seeded Nazareth, in just its seventh season of intercollegiate play, defeated top-seed Springfield in four sets (25-23, 22-25, 25-23, 25-22) to claim its first national title in men's volleyball, winning the 2011 Molten Division III Men's Invitational Volleyball Championship before a spirited crowd of more than 1,000 fans at the Kidera Gymnasium.

That sets up an exciting second day of action, beginning with two quarterfinal matches at 11 a.m. as #1 seeded and defending champion Nazareth meets four-time champion and 2011 tournament host, Stevens, the #8 seed. No. 2 Rivier will meet #7 Medaille, which held off #10 Rivier in the opening day's only five-set contest.
In the 1 p.m. quarterfinals, #3 seeded Baruch tangles with #6 Emmanuel while Philadelphia Biblical and MIT square off in the 4/5 matchup. The semifinals will feature the four surviving teams at 4 p.m.

After more than three months of competition, the field of 16 which will compete for the 2011 NECVA Championship from Friday, April 1 through Sunday, April 3 at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ was announced Monday by the NECVA Tournament Selection Committee. The 2011 NECVA champion will receive the league&rsquo;s automatic bid to the Molten Division III Men&rsquo;s Invitational Volleyball Championship, to be held at Nazareth College in Rochester, New York on April 15-16.
