NEW YORK, NY (www.necva.org)...Former Mount Saint Vincent men’s volleyball student-athlete ARNOLD ROSS has been named the new head coach at Yeshiva University for the 2010 season.
This season, he also served as an assistant coach for the women’s program at Yeshiva, working alongside Coach Roxanne Prendergast.
A four-year player for the Dolphins, Ross graduated from CMSV in 2008, where he was a two-year captain in 2007 and 2008. The Dolphins were ranked as high as ninth in Division III in 2004 and finished second in the ECAC Tournament. As a senior, CMSV won the Hudson Valley championship, and he earned Second-Team All-Skyline conference honors.
The New England native was a four-year captain of the Maine Junior Olympics Team and a two-year member of the Maine State Volleyball Association, prior to attending CMSV. He continues to actively play in the New York Urban Professionals League.
Director of Athletics Joe Bednarsh said: “Arnold Ross has proven himself to be an excellent teacher and coach. He has been instrumental in the development of the women's volleyball team and I have no doubt he will bring to the men's team the same structure and skill development that has become his trademark.”
Ross replaces Juan Corona, who had served as head coach of the Maccabees for 10 years from 2000-2009.
