Ben Bewley is the new head coach at LBC.
LANCASTER, PA...Former Lancaster Bible College student-athlete Ben Bewley has recently been named as the Chargers new head men's volleyball coach. Bewley, who played for four years at LBC, takes over for Wally Kappeler.
"I am excited," Bewley said. "I am hoping to bring consistency and stability to the program."
Even though he has played with some of the current players, Bewley isn't concerned about his age or inexperience as a head coach.
"I think playing alongside of them and being a leader on the team will help me and give me a level of respect already," Bewley said. "I was successful in the way that I played the game and am excited to lead a team from a coaching standpoint."
Along with taking the men's volleyball head coaching position, Bewley will also be in charge of Intramurals on campus. He is looking forward to putting his degree in sports management to use.
Last season, Bewley averaged 6.62 assists and 2.19 digs per set for the Chargers.
